Glider’s fuselage can be used as the glider's shipping container

  • All glider components fit inside fuselage including the wings, nose fairing, landing parachute, and all tail surfaces
  • Quick assembly & disassembly – about 1/2 day with 2 persons
  • 2 bolts & 1 clevis pin to install or remove a wing panel
  • Outer wing extensions plug into inner wing panels – successfully flight tested 15 times
  • 2 bolts to install or remove the horizontal tail assembly
  • 2 bolts to install or remove a vertical tail assembly
  • Nose fairing is taped to fuselage with bi-directional filament tape

48 LG-1K TACAD or 36 LG-2K RAIN gliders could fit into a standard 40-foot ISO cargo shipping container

24 LG-1K TACAD or 12 LG-2K RAIN gliders could fit into a standard 20-foot ISO cargo shipping container

Storage

Compact storage in a Ready-to-Fly (RTF) configuration

  • Glider’s H-tail and folding truss braced wing (TBW) allows gliders in a ready-to-fly (RTF) configuration to be stacked up to 4 gliders high (2 high shown in image)
  • This allows for compact storage onboard aircraft, ships, logistic depots, and inside standard 20 or 40 foot long storage containers
  • When folded, the wings are designed to overlap the fuselage of an adjacent glider
  • Four foam or honeycomb paper blocks are used between gliders to aid stacking them (blocks are shown in dark blue)
  • Blocks aid in positioning forklift forks under a glider
